Dongwha Merbok Fishing Competition

Merbok Plant Sports, Recreation and Welfare Club had organized a fishing competition last Saturday, 30th August 2014 which took place at fishing pond at Santai Damai Recreation Park.
The competition started at 9.00 am with an official mark of releasing 40 fishes by Merbok Plant Manager, Mr Abdul Razak. Mr Sobry Ismail (Engineering Manager), Mr Sukri Hashim (Production Manager), Mr Faizal Halim (MRD manager), Mr Hazali (Merbok HRBP Manager) and Mr. Zulkifli Omar (Group HRBP Manager) were among those present at the opening ceremony while representatives from Korean management were Mr. Kim Song Jeon and Mr. Kim Gi Seob.
The competition attract more than 50 participants where most of them take part in the competition together with their family. It was a great activity when everyone can release their tension and sharing the happy time together. This competition also offers the opportunity for those who never had fishing experience to learn from the experts and also an ideal leisure way to make happy memories not only for the employee but also for their family.
After more than 4 hours fishing, the competition ended at 2.00 p.m. Mr. Ahmad Rozaini won champion title with a haul of 1.48kg of fish. For the feat, he took home a cash prize of RM250. Runner-up was won by Mr. Yusnizal who caught fish weighed 1.42 kg and took home second prize of RM100. Third place went to Ms. Rodzita who also hooked a fish weighing 1.39 kg that won her cash prize of RM50.
